How do i stop a washing machine from walking.
Washing machine vibrates on laminate floor.
Lift the machine slightly with a pry bar to take the weight off the front legs then turn the legs until the side of the washer is plumb.
Turn the leg nut as many times as needed until the front part of the machine is leveled.
Adjust the front legs to make the machine level across the front and from front to back.
Most washing machines have a locking nut.
We have a front load washer in the utility room on the main floor of an 1896 farmhouse with wooden floors.
Push the washing machine back into position if it has moved across the floor.
Even at the lowest spin cycle setting the vibration is extreme.
The washing machine is heavy.
To do this you will need a good a spirt level.
Adjust the legs of the washing machine both front and back until you are happy the machine is as level as possible.
Make sure this is fastened after your adjustments or the feet will become loose again.
It is more likely for a washing machine to move on a laminate or wooden floor.
If the laundry appliances are on the main floor and adding bracing in the ceiling of the level directly under the washer is possible this should give the washer a sturdier stable floor and minimize vibrations.
Tighten the locking nuts.
Level the legs of the washing machine across the front and then from front to back.
If it s not possible to add bracing as described you can place a 5 8 or 1 inch sheet of plywood under both appliances to increase the stability of the floor.
